P 6 & 7 Health Education
As part of the school’s Health Education
programme Primary 6 and 7 pupils will be taking
part in activities relating to the theme of Growing and Changing in the summer
term.
P 6 lessons focus on the physical, emotional and social changes encountered
during puberty. P 7 lessons also concentrate on similar issues but in greater
depth. P 7 pupils will also be given the chance to increase their knowledge and
understanding of conception, childbirth and contraception.
Our School Nurse, Katrina Fairbairn, has been heavily involved in the planning
of these lessons and will be delivering the
programme along with the class teacher.
Materials will be available for parents to look at during
Parents’ Evenings. If you do not want your child to take part please inform the
school. Thank you.
Letters / Leaflets
From time to time local groups eg Brownies, Scouts, Tae-kwon-do,
Eyemouth Leisure Trust, The Church etc ask us to distribute information
leaflets. These are not necessarily associated with the school so please
contact the group directly if you have any queries. Thank you.
Questionnaires
Thanks to all the parents who handed in the questionnaires. If
you have not completed one there is still time to hand it in.

Staffing
Miss Kirsten Wood who was going to fill the
temporary P1/2 teaching post has secured a permanent job in Dunbar. So I am
delighted that Mrs Christine Dougal will help us out by sharing the class with
Mrs Easingwood until Miss Waldron's return in June. Mrs Easingwood will continue
full time until the Easter holidays so this new arrangement will start week
beginning the 19th April. As you will know Mrs Dougal is very familiar with the
school so we are delighted she can help out.
